Visa Application Requirements
For foreign nationals who require a visa to enter China, the following general requirements apply:
- A valid passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity and at least one blank visa page
- A completed visa application form
- Recent passport-sized photograph
- Invitation letter (if applicable)
- Proof of travel itinerary
- Proof of sufficient funds for the duration of stay
- Other supporting documents as required by the Chinese embassy or consulate
E-Visa
China offers e-visas for certain countries. For the most up-to-date information on e-visa eligibility and application procedures, please visit the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China.
Conference participants note: International conference participants are encouraged to apply for visas well in advance through the nearest Chinese embassy or consulate.
For Hong Kong and Macau Residents
Hong Kong and Macau residents can use their Home Return Permit to enter and exit mainland China. For more information, please visit the official website of the Exit and Entry Administration of the Ministry of Public Security of China.
For Taiwan Residents
Taiwan residents can apply for a Taiwan Compatriot Permit to enter and exit mainland China. Alternatively, they can also apply for a short-term travel permit at the port of entry. For Mainland China Residents
Mainland China residents do not need a visa to enter mainland China. Please carry your valid ID card or passport for identification purposes.
