Travel to Chengdu
Chengdu Metro
Chengdu Metro is the city's rapid transit system. As of 2026, it operates 13 lines with over 550 kilometers of track, serving major urban districts and seamlessly connecting key transport hubs—including railway stations, intercity bus terminals, and both international airports.
Line 10 serves Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU). Passengers can transfer at Taipingyuan Station to Line 3 or Line 7 to reach central areas such as Chunxi Road and Tianfu Square.
Line 18 provides direct rail service between Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (TFU) and southern downtown zones (e.g., Chengdu South Railway Station and Financial City). To reach core central districts like Tianfu Square, a transfer to Line 1—or a branch of Line 18—is required.
Moreover, since 2023, Lines 18 and 19 have been through-operated, offering direct train service between Shuangliu and Tianfu Airports in approximately 30 minutes—making Chengdu one of the few cities in the world with direct metro connectivity between two international airports.
Chengdu Bus
Chengdu Bus operates an extensive network with over 500 routes, covering all districts and connecting major attractions, commercial areas, and transportation hubs throughout the city.
Chengdu High Speed Railway
Chengdu is a major high-speed rail hub in western China, with high-speed trains connecting to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Xi’an, and other major cities. The Chengdu East Railway Station is the primary hub for high-speed rail services.
Chengdu Railway
Chengdu has multiple major railway stations, including Chengdu Railway Station (the historical main station, currently undergoing renovation) and Chengdu East Railway Station (the main high-speed hub). Conventional and medium-speed trains connect Chengdu with cities across China.
